Never heard of that program. I prefer comodo over all though, theres so much more stuff you can do with comodo.
BlackICE is hooked directly to the task manager and every time a new process or a change in a process happens, it asks you if it should close or continue. So nothing can start without your permission. The drawback is that you get like 30 messenges per minute or so.

I use Windows Live OneCare.
It's good, simply put.
Before I was wishing to dish out money for onecare, I was on windows firewall and AVG Free Edition.
A simple antivirus works for everyday joes, and if your behind a router/network, windows firewall will get the job done.
If your pirating and all that fun shit, your asking for trouble either way, protected or not.

http://www.comodo.com is pretty good to DJ Josh, if you haven't tried it you really should.
P.S OneCare is crap, try comodo I bet you'll like it way more.
