I agree it makes sense to put a time limit on it, but who knows right??? lol some colleges might not have that policy for whatever reason

So that'd only cover a handful of colleges in your area, that doesn't even touch on ones in other states. Whether your credits transfer or not would depend upon what classes you took. When I talked to a college admissions advisor a year ago, I asked her about transferring credits and she didn't have a problem with it. All she said was to make sure that I don't take too many specialized courses because they might not be able to match them up with anything they (or other schools) offer. I also think the quality of the community college in question might have something to do with it. I'm transferring to another school but was worried that I just wasn't ready for it yet so I talked to someone at the school about it and he actually suggested that I transfer to a community college. He said that he doesn't like most community colleges but that some are actually quite good and named one, in particular, that he felt had great classes that were very similar to the ones offered at said four year school (and would transfer into his school when I decided to come). On top of that, I think the four year school matters, too. Some, for example, will make deals with others in which they agree to take one another's credits without question. I imagine that means some are snobby and will not only reject community college credits but even some four year school credits. It's all really whacky, I don't think schools should be able to be like that which is why it's good that schools are actually being confronted about it in PA. Some are now agreeing to not pick and choose anymore which will be nice. Post edited at 10:28 am on May 20, 2008 by Majo
