Basically apply anywhere and everywhere. You may not want to work at a store but you have to start somewhere. Don't let your future employers know that you intend to work for them for only a year since they will be a lot less apt to hire you. Put together a solid resume (go to the Online Writing Lab--google it) and good luck.
