 If we don't get to know the person beyond looks then it makes us shallow. Each person should be given a chance. I admit you can normally tell within the first 5 mintutes sometimes if you will like a person. However i think you do i some ways have a point however if we didn't bother we would be lonely people.  

 To be honest you always have to look beyond the surface to be able to know what you will truly think of the person, just judging on looks gets you nowhere

Yes, but you are missing my point. If i need to get to know someone before dismissing them, that is ALOT of people i have to get to know.

Think about on the train or bus, if someone walked up to you, regardless of attractiveness, would you ignore them.  

I would, i'd tell them to get the ---- away from me.

They are on the train, and I have no interest in knowing them. Don't care, no reason i should.
