Regular use of the drug has appeared to double the risk of developing a psychotic episode or long-term schizophrenia. However, does cannabis cause depression and schizophrenia or do people with these disorders use it as a medication? Over the past few years, research has strongly suggested that there is a clear link between early cannabis use and later mental health problems in those with a genetic vulnerability - and that there is a particular issue with the use of cannabis by adolescents.

Note the bold. Those are people with serious mental health conditions. Not the average Joe.

Its alright... Honestly Ive smoked a couple of times... and its never been something to much of enjoyment out of it... its fun with a social group or close friends..so you guys can connect and talk and have fun. and laugh at stupid things.. but in the long run you have to smoke allot more.. I only do it occasionaly!!!!! and Ill prolly to it later.. but I dont think ima wast my own money on it lol!

From what I've heard, it's no worse for one's health than alcohol or tobacco. I don't use it though, and I don't plan on using it. I don't view recreational drug use favorably.
