Explain to him before hand what your family is like. He needs to meet them sooner or later. If he cares for you, he will know YOU are not your family. I went through a simular situation. The man I am Marrying is 18 years older than I. My family hated him before they even met him. They're closed minded rednecks, Im an openminded metalhead, so we definitely clash. They hate that I don't believe in god, I just got a tattoo, etc. But this is the man I am marrying, I wanted him to meet my fucked up family, and over time my family realized it doesn't matter what they think, what matters is I am HAPPY about my path in life. I hope that with time yours can come to the same realization.
