I've never been drunk before, but I want to to 1) just see what its like and 2) have fun, of course! How many beers would it take a 165 pound 16 y/o, 5'11 guy get drunk? How long would I expect it to take to feel drunk? Nad how long would I stay drunk? What are the chances I would say something that I wouldn't tell anybody while sober? Please don't put responses like "Depends on how much you drink" or "you shouldn't even be drinking." Thank you. BUT CAN YOU ANSWER THESE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS? THESE COMMENTS DON"T HELP ME. Um, it varies. Depends whether you've eaten or not and what your tolerance levels are. I'd say, anything above six or so.
How long would I expect it to take to feel drunk? Nad how long would I stay drunk?
Well, after a few drinks you'd probably feel tipsy. A bit wobbly and such, but nothing to worry about. As for staying drunk - depends how much you've drunk and on your tolerance, as I said before. Maybe four, five hours, but could be more.
What are the chances I would say something that I wouldn't tell anybody while sober?
Well, alcohol does lower your inhibitions, so it is quite likely you might blurt something out, especially if you've never been drunk before and have never experienced it. Hope that helped somewhat :)

How many beers would it take a 165 pound 16 y/o, 5'11 guy get drunk? it varies from person to person, and since you've never drank before it will probably be less than in a few years. it also depends on how much/what you've eaten that day. drink a few slowly, see how you feel, then drink a few more. when you feel you've had enough, you probably have. i'm going to guess it will be around 6-7. you don't want to make yourself sick. How long would I expect it to take to feel drunk? Nad how long would I stay drunk? it depends on how much you drink, how fast or slowly you drink it, and what you've had to eat. if you go slow, you'll feel it for longer because you'll have that tipsy feeling before you actually get drunk. What are the chances I would say something that I wouldn't tell anybody while sober? depends. just be careful. drinking does lower your inhibitions, but that doesn't mean you'll become a babbling baboon. this is another reason why you need to make sure you don't get totally hammed (you know, to the point of passing out/puking) and really sloppy. if you're just drunk, you're less likely to make a fool of yourself.

That's not enough information to gauge it. Do not try to gauge it by this. If someone gives you a number of drinks on LW, they might be right, but that will only be by pure luck. Genetic factors make it vary wildly. How much you have eaten that day makes it vary wildly.

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/alcohol/alcohol_effects.shtml Keep in mind that this is more of a rough outline than a definite guarantee. How quickly you drink, what you drink, and how much is in your stomach will all alter these numbers, but that can give you a rough idea of what to expect. The above chart assumes you consume your alcohol at once and then stop, which almost certainly will not be the case. As such, it will probably take you longer to get drunk, and the come-up will be spread out more (meaning that when you first start to feel drunk, even if you immediately stop drinking, you could still continue to get more drunk for an hour or more depending on your pace/ metabolism).
What are the chances I would say something that I wouldn't tell anybody while sober?
You have to be pretty fucking wasted before serious secrets come out. Generally even when I'm puking drunk I'm still aware of what comes out of my mouth, and while I might be looser with some things I never find myself blurting out serious shit that I don't mean to/ later regret. My advice is to have about three drinks, and then nurse a fourth for an hour or two. Alcohol takes a while to kick in, and when you start to feel drunk you will generally continue to get more drunk for the next hour or two. A lot of people (myself included) screw themselves over when they first start drinking because they get drunk, assume that's "where they are," and keep drinking to maintain this level, not realizing that there is still more alcohol being absorbed into their bloodstream. Give yourself an hour or so to gauge where you are, and slow down once you start to feel it. Also, drink plenty of water and make sure to eat something beforehand. This will help the effects be more manageable so that you can self-regulate, and will help prevent some of the negative effects associated with drinking. I wish I could give you a specific number of drinks to have, a specific number of hours it will take to get drunk, and a specific number of hours that you will stay there. Unfortunately drinking is a very variable thing, and you need to be able to figure out for yourself where you are. This means that early on you should start slow--there's no need to get hammered your first time. Shoot for a heavy buzz/ the beginnings of being drunk, because there's a good chance that a couple hours after you get there you'll start to feel sick if you pushed too hard.
