300 Mile Per Gallon Electric Car
Could this be the answer to high gas prices?

I just don't get it... I just watched the world news today and they showed this electric car that gets 300 MPG. And costs under $30,000. Yeah it's a little expensive but you would pay it off eventually with how much you save on gas. Lol heck a full tank of gas would probably last you a month.

If they put out millions of these cars out on the car lots today, it would pretty much solve this gas problem. =/

No it would not.

Because at the end of the day in order to get the electricity needed to run the car some kind of fossil fuel needs to be used to make it. And then storing it over time, and the electricity will dissipate slowly. So its quite inefficient.

Wait a minute, if its an electric car, how the hell is it getting 3K miles per GALLON, a gallon of what??

"According to Fambro the all-electric Aptera is expected to go roughly 120 miles on a full charge, while the series hybrid will travel 600 miles on a full battery and a full tank of gas — the equivalent of 300 mpg."

Um, we'd need some way of charging these things, which wouldn't be cheap. Either way, fossil fuels are going to be burned using them.

I agree with the question "how does it get 300 mpg", although, It might mean 300 miles per charge, or perhaps it is a hybrid model as well.

However, Electricity can be made using Nuclear power as well.

edit: yep I see they have a hybrid

Yeah if I ever get the money I'll buy it asap, and I'll be laughing at people like you when I roll past the gas stations each week with my tank only at quarter tank empty.

And to the person who said it would suck up human resources and suck up too much electricity. Yeah maybe it would but it's a heck of a lot better than these cars out there today getting only 30-40mpg. Maybe you just wouldn't want to save money? Well I do.

I would like to drive something that looks like a car, not something I pick up and start vacuuming a car with. Gas prices are high right now, but nothing to take drastic measures over, in my opinion.

I guess everyone has forgotten about clean nuclear power for electricity... FOSSIL FUELS ARE NOT THE MAJOR SOURCE OF ELECTRICITY  that you all think they are.
