Gotta say... I'm not a fan of becomign part of a singularity. I like being myself, and I don't like the majority of people. Granted, what they're on about is not a singularity... On another note, we could already copy ourselves into machines if we so desired. It'd be a mess, and what would be in the machine wouldn't be identifyable or even capable of processing, but... meh. Give it 30 years or so. As the article says, I guess.

Ahh, works of fiction. For machines to go on a rampage like that, they need motive. It'd make much more sense for a machine to boost its defensive capabilities as opposed to committing genocide.
