I use:

Foundation - Continuous Coverage in Creamy Glow mixed with Up-lighting liquid illuminator in Natural, both by Clinque
Concealer - Boing by Benefit and Touch Eclat by YSL
Mascara - Sky Hugh Curves in Brown by Maybelline
Eyeliner - Precision Eyeliner in Grey by MaxFactor
Eyeshadow - Barry M Dazzle Dust in Old Gold
Bronzer - something by Prestige
Highlighter - Highlighting Mousse in Champagne by Maybelline

The uplighting liquid by Clinique is amazing. Expensive but lasts for ages. Really like the eyeliner by MaxFactor, has a shapener in the botton, really soft and lasts all day.
Also, best eyelash curlers are by Mister Mascara.

Makeup Tip: I recently purchased Chanel's Inimitable Mascara and it's actually quite good. So, anyone looking for a GOOD mascara, try it out ;)

Geez, I don't have any fancy make-up. They're expensive.

Base: CoverGirl (pressed powder)
Mascara: Maybelline Intense Volume XXL
Eyeliner: Dollar store eyeliner, lol. I like it though. It's not heavy like those really soft eyeliners.

Things like eyeshadow and blush, I borrow from my friends. My friend has a really good blush, but I forgot the name of it. It might be mary-kate and ashley because I remember it having kiddie letters on the cover. Not sure. But yeah, I don't buy make-up too much. Those are just some that I try to have all the time for myself at least.

I love this thread, since I'm just starting to get into make-up, but I was wondering a few things, sorry to sound like a newbie, but:

1. How do you tell what shades for eyeshadow/blush/etc work well with your skin, and
2. What is a reasonable price for good make-up products? Like for eyeliner, mascara, etc. Because my mom gets really cheap make-up, and she doesn't like me getting stuff that's more exprensive, but maybe she's just cheap??

1. Darling, I can't tell you that. Firstly, because you need to work out what works best for your skin. Sure, guides to skin tones and whatnot help, but I've found the best thing for my skin has always been trial and error. I've been playing with makeup since I was a little girl, and its taken me all that time to absolutely perfect my makeup application and selection.

I suppose if you have a fairly straightforward skin tone/hair colour combination, you'll find it easier than I did. [I have a mixture of both warm and cool skin tone: I'm Eurasian, and my skin is an almost perfectly in-between neutral. Both silver and gold stand out equally against my skin, and my skin tans and fades extremely easily. My hair also naturally changes colours, and make up guidelines based on hair and skin tone do nothing for me.] Makeup will also depend on your personal taste, style, features, what you want to accentuate, budget, time, lifestyle, etc, etc. Please note that everything looks better on healthy, clean, well-cared for skin. And proper application is also extremely important.

2. Hunt around. Try things. Experiment. Its not about the price, but what works best for you, your skin, your style, your budget, your lifestyle. I generally find that the pricier makeup lasts longer, is better value and looks better on me.

That said, an unflattering shade is an unflattering shade. You need to make sure you have a good hard look at what you're buying, especially if you've got a limited budget, or the item you want is particularly pricey. If you want to get the best item possible, don't settle for "okay", make sure you look at your product in natural light, that you're not in a rush, or under pressure, and that you're free to browse and try things out. Don't just look at the colour, but how it looks on your face as a whole, and the texture/longevity/application/how much you need. It takes patience to make a perfect buy.

I break out easily, so cheap makeup just makes it worse.  I wish I could get away with wearing something cheaper.

Hmm.. here's my list :P

Firstly, I always moisturize my skin with Clean&Clear Oil-free Shine Control Moisturizer. My skin is clear(no acne), so I try to use as least amount of Foundation as possible.

Foundation: Revlon Colorstay Active Light Makeup(it's sweatproof and looks really natural and not too "pasty")
Face Powder(I apply it on top of the tinted Foundation, because my skin is oily):Bourjois Compact Powder
Eyeliner: Chanel Noir Intense Black Eye Pencil
Mascara: BADgal Lash Mascara
Blush: Stila Beach-y Keen Cheek Duo
Eyeshadow: Smashbox Palette in Earth Mother
Lips: Pixi Lip Blush in Desire

Note: Some of my makeup is somewhat pricey, I love buying makeup(it's an art in my opinion) and I don't mind the spending. Most of the makeup here is from Sephora.

I use this foundation called Dermacia that I found out about from my dermatologist.  This stuff is freaking awesome!  I had really bad acne for ages and this stuff has finally made it so much better.  It's really good for your skin, it doesn't clog up your pores.  It's kind of expensive but it lasts forever.  I'm just really glad I found something that covers my scars and helped my skin to clear at the same time.  I think it was worth the money cause it saved my skin!

Oooh, what a lovely stickie.

Here goes then. Now, I have a huge make up collection, but I'll list my faves and what I use mostly

I use...
Foundation: Atm, I am using Bourjois Matt Lovely. I forget the colour. It's okay I guess. You could say I haven't found the most amazing foundation yet. I do love Mineralize Satin Finish by MAC though. However, my funds cant cover the costs.

Blush: I'm not wearing any atm. Usually, I just wear it to add colour, but I have a slight tan so I'm not using it. My fave is Blushcreme by MAC in Posey.

Mascara: Now, I swear by this. It's taken me years to actually find the perfect mascara. It's Urban Decay, Big Fatty Mascara. It is a bit pricey, but I personally think it's worth it.

Eyeliner: Liner Stylo by Bourjois in Noir. MAC Frostlite Fluidline is great too, I only got it the other day!

Powder: Ew, don't use. It blocks up my pores big time

Lip balm: It's not the best thing in the world, but smells delicious. It's by H&M Lipbalm (I dont really like their cosmetics, but I like this) in Coconut & Mango.

Lip gloss/colour: I don't really wear it. If I do I really like Red Earth Lip Glaze in RD002, and for a bright, summery colour I like PU001. It's pricey though

Eyeshadow: The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes. Especially for the night time. I swear by them. They are great! They also last forever, and you can mix with a little moisturizer to make an eyeshadow creme. I also like Prestige Shadows.

I would recommend...
Definitely Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara, however the only downside is that it does get clumpy after a while. If you clean the brush regularly though, it's fine!

Hard Candy Sweet Cheeks, it's a liquid blush. I like the colour Girlie.

Other products
I really like MAC Nail Lacquer in Gee Whiz. Great stuff.

Also, if you do use foundation. I find that if you use a make up base first, it really does help. I'd suggest red earth functional make up base.

I just bought Benefit's "Some Kinda Gorgeous" foundation. Eugh, what a waste of money. It only comes in one shade (which is bad news for near-albinos like me) and it runs out really quickly.

Nothing beats YSL perfect touch!

Foundation: Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder

Me tooo.
And CG true blend and Loreal Infallible. And I don't use anything else, seeming as how I am a guy.

But I also own a whole mess of MAC stuff, because I use it when I do glamour shoots, and most of my models won't settle for store-stuff because they work so hard for their skin. So I have to dish out muchos moneys on MAC.

And I just ordered the trial kit from Everyday Minerals because Crysta said to and I do what she tells me.
