FIRST TIME WORKING OUT EVER! - 150 crunches in 5 minutes...
is this normal? does that mean i can get abs soon??

ok, im not bragging here; i do have questions and im concerned...

hey, im 19 yr old guy, and I have a confession:  I have NEVER worked out in my entire life, NEVER did sports.  I'm NOT obese....and my stomach is soft, with a tiny bit of fat covering it.  I am really soft, not much muscle at all.


I decided to start working out this morning.  I started doing sit-ups and I was able to do 150 in one sitting.  I wasn't sore or tired at all!  Is this natural??  Does this mean I can get abs sooner than most people?  I have never done any physical activity ever.  

Let me know your experiences!

a routine works better for building muscles, maybe 3 sets of 50 crunches with a 30 second gap in between and you'll need to do more than that to get muscles.

well, i had my feet flat on the floor, and I had my hands behind my head the whole time.  I continuously went up, half way, paused for a second, and then went back down.

all the workout videos out there and my gym teacher always said to "go half way" and that touching the knees was wrong.

i think your doing it wrong... if you've never did a work out in your life ... and you where doing 150 in one sitting then you shud of felt a like a burning in you abs and you stomach should have been hurting

there is a big difference from sit up to crunches cruches are not half way but a llil lower and sit ups are all the way up

Well, when you do crunches in order to tighten your stomach you don't come up all the way. You only come up half way, like you said.  And, that is pretty impressive if  you've actually done them the right way. But it is unusual that you're not sore. Usually, that would make you sore if you've never worked out before.

guys, he's not doing it wrong. if anything he's building up more resistance.

anyway, you probably just have a lot of muscle sitting under the fat lol. could be genetic. it's normal. hell, in this day and age, anything is normal.
