LW is now a part of my life lol. But If there was no internet, then I probably would be getting better grades. Example: Right now, I'd probably be working on my Home economics project

I think that not having the internet would actually decrease my grades. I use it to study a lot, sometimes on my own for fun, and sometimes seriously for school. It does waste some time, though.

Well, I still like to do research in brick and mortar places with paper pages to turn. That isn't to say I'm not lazy and often rely on internet resources when I've put off a paper for too long. Of course the draw of surfing, and reading blogs and playing around on LW instead of doing my work is a real issue too. So, yes, I think I'd do better in school if the internet had never come to be.

i use the internet as a major source of my research, and i use online revision sites as well, so i would say that the internet inproves my grades. I also use it to comminucate with my friends (via myspace etc.) which relaxes me and puts me in a better frame of mind to work.

My grades would probably improve, but I don't think the internet affects me too too much. I can refrain when I want to, but that doesn't mean I won't procrastinate, because I do.

Yes, I do think my grades would improve without the internet. It is just far too distracting and addicting. However, when I was in 8th grade, I found this college discussion website, and it really opened my eyes as to how hard I needed to work in high school to get into a good college. I knew I had to get my act together, because in 8th grade, I was not doing so well. I also found out about AP classes, SAT, ACT, etc. etc. So that sort of motivated me. But if I was able to get that information without the internet, I think I would be doing a lot better in school than I am now.

Well if I had any homework to do (My teachers give my classroom time during our classes to do homework) and I gave up internet use, then my grades would go from A's and B's to all A's

I personally think that if anything, taking the Internet away from me would maybe help my grades (especially in Geometry and Biology) go up just a tiny bit, although I'm an A/B student right now anyways. I just can't help but think that instead of doing only some of my homework or studying late at night and the rest of it in the morning or right before I need to turn it in/take the quiz or test, I would be a better planner and space my studying out and get my homework done before the day it is due. The Internet, to me, is one of my major tools for procrastination, to be honest.

I would probably still be in college if I didn't have the computer. I was going to Community College and for my 3rd semester I decided to do all online classes. Well, instead of of actually doing the work, I would be online talking to people and all that jazz.

It really wouldn't make a difference. The premise of your question, doesn't address the Internet per se. But rather, you're considering the services you frequent on the Internet, as distractions. One's work, or study habits, aren't dictated by the surrounding distractions, but rather, by the strength of one's diligence and attention to it. Go ahead, and unplug everything if you will. If you're prone to distractions, you'll find a plethora of other activities to keep you otherwise occupied, soon enough.
