Lol....no really...I really laughed out loud at that statement.
It is a valid statement, as I clarified with him, because the OP is mainly referring to weed. It is possible to simply stop using weed, as it isn't physically addictive.
However had the OP been referring to hard drugs that are physically addictive, giving advice to just "stop and get your priorities straight" is essentially as useful as telling a depressed person to "just be happy already."

depends what drug.. ive been addicted to ketamine mixed with adderall... it was ruining my life lol it ended when I went out and got an ounce of the stuff it was a really bad batch to begin with, wayyy too many stims in it... but I still used it multiple times a day every day.. untill i had like 10 g left, and i was starting to loose friends over it.. so I was like fuck this.. somehow found the will to dump $200 of product down the drain..
thats the best way to quit ive found.. ya may feel shitty for a few days.. but once their over, omg its like coming out of a room you were trapped in for months

You should have not destroyed the drugs; rather you should have given them to someone else. How long have you been clean?
OP: You're not really as far gone as many drug addicts are. You still have a chance. But hell, it's just weed and not that big of a problem for most people but if it's negatively affecting you then that's probably an indicator that you should smoke less often and less heavily.
You're not a worthless drug addict until you realize that you've been up for several nights with bottles of liquor and cans of beer all around you, a broken crackpipe, a bong, two glass pipes, a pound of weed on the desk, and a few lines of coke and a hypodermic syringe already loaded with a liquidated form of crack and heroin. THAT's when you realize that you're a worthless drug addict, though SWIM knows they are not fully worthless to them.
