I would go with Bela Bartok. Everything he wrote (which was a lot) was 50 to 100 years ahead of its time yet still interesting to listen to. You've probably never heard of him (he is a composer from the 20s-30s) so listen to "Piano Concerto No. 1" to hear his style.
