(Another tech problem from me today!

Ok, so my mam purchased McAfee for a year over the Internet from the website because other one ran out. However, the computer isn't protected and the message saying "Your subscription has expired" is still coming up. How do I update it since she did purchase it?

I think I worded it wrong, lol Totally useless at computers. Must go back and fix that.

She did that but it the message thing is still coming up and its saying the computer is not fully protectioned.

Call up the company you purchased the subscription from. You are a paying customer, so any issues you have with their products should go through them. This is like the reason why a lecturer at my polytech says he would rather have a paid for version of programs over free ones, because then at least you can call up for support if anything goes wrong with the product. They have money, just not enough time. However since you paid for yourself, you should like I said before, call up their help line, which is usually on their main website.
