Best Friend
Hanging out with the guys.

Intro: My best friend is a guy. I am a girl.

With that established, I get jealous when he spends more time with "the guys" than with me.

I'm not really "in" with what they do. For instance, I don't have a DS or a Playstation, so I get kinda lost when he and his buddies get into convos about the games.

He's told me I'm the closest friend he has, and I believe that. But he also feels awkward spending one-on-one time with him. We're both single, and even though I liked him for a couple years, he wasn't interested, and I've moved on.

I understand guys need to hang out with other guys every once in awhile, but damn it, if I'm his best friend, shouldn't we get to spend time, too? How do I feel less jealous about time he spends with "the guys" ?

Well, you obviously like him in a ''more than friends'' way.

Lol, there are more than two consoles for gaming, like... the computer? And it looks like you still like him a bit... and if you don't, telling him that you want to spend more time with him might send the wrong message

Why not set up times to hang out with him before his other friends do?  Like ask him to plan a trip to the movies, or go-karting, or put-putting or something.  Or you could always go with him to hang out with his other friends to.  Video games are fun for both sexes.

OR, you could get other friends to hang out with, it would help with the jealousy on your part if you had other people to hang out with too.

I'm not blaming him for anything. He's fine.
I would like advice on how to feel less jealous.

You're not over him. Thats why you're feeling the way you're feeling now. I'm sure that you know that. I know that he's your closes friend but that doesn't mean he should spend more time with you. The best way to get over your jealousy is to get over him. I know that its not easy but its the best thing to do. If you keep this up someday you're going to sound like some "wacko" because you're jealous. Just use common sense, there are lots of fish in the sea.

Good Luck.
