Following my question whether pedophilia whether it is an illness or a social taboo, I ask with so many people in the world being pedophiles what can we do about it.

Think... in a village of 2000 [average UK size village] that means 20 - 100 of them are pedophiles!

I thought this was really, really common knowledge: Your children are almost never kidnapped/murdered/raped/molested by strangers. It is almost ALWAYS someone you/they know.

The first thing you should do is take a healthy dose of a skepticism when looking at any scary statistic like that. Big,  shocking, newsworthy statistics are not scientific statistics.

I don't have kids and likely never will, so this is kind of useless information.

I wasn't giving you advice personally. Just stuff to know. I was watching a weird thing about a young woman who was molested as a child by a female teacher (small town and all that). The one thing that connects all cases of sustained, long time abuse by acquaintances is that the child is spending time alone with the person at their house, or where-have-you. That's a big issue.
