I really want to get my lip pierced but I can't have it at work. So how long before I can put a retainer in? And do they have really tiny studs, almost like as small as a nose piercing? I've only seen the ones with a large ball stud.

I was thinking the same thing. The really small ones, those are the hottest.
But i doubt you'd be able to wear a small when you've just recently gotten the piercing.

Not a good idea, but get it done with a stud, not a ring whatever you do!!!

Until it heals. When it heals, that's when you can start changing jewelry. Until then, you shouldn't be touching it except to clean it, and even then it should be limited.
Small studs, especially at the beginning, run the risk of going into the hole and having one side close over the jewelry. It can cause nasty infections. Not a good idea.
