I have no excuse on what crime I did but basically I'm a 18 yr old guy who had sex with a 15 yr old minor and I got caught. I lied to the cops and everything about it but the 15 yr old told the truth. Her parents aren't pressing charges but the state is going to be against me. Basically what my dad told me was that my choice was to either fly back to Canada or Mexico to run away or stay in the US and fight the court battle for $4000. Basically I will be fighting a lie and stuff assuming that the state has no evidence that I did have sex with this younger girl. But yeah I feel like I have no hope. If I go to Canada or Mexico its going to be hard because I will lose all my friends, scholarships and stuff for college. So basically I want to know my rights and stuff. Where can I find the state laws rule and consequences and stuff. If I do go to court and lose the battle, I will be facing 15 years in prison. The sex was consensual by the way. But please can somebody help me out. My parents are already talking to lawyers and stuff.

hmm well the state is pretty stiricted on ths sort of stuff so its going to b tuff to get out of it if she says it want forced that could help u a bit idk thts a tuff one but i think u would probably lose the scholarships any way

Bud, I'm by no means an expert, but I'd say your best bet is to find a lawyer, and ask him what your legal options are, and what the chances would be of you winning the court battle. If you go to Canada or Mexico, and they want to arrest you, wither country with probably extradite you back to the states, IF you can even get through the border.
