What were the general literary movements of the time period in which Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein(realism, naturalism, etc.)?

It was during the period of Romanticism, I believe (not to be confused with "romantic" or "romance," which are entirely different concepts). Gothic writing was big, as well as naturalism. I used to have the notes somewhere, but it's been a good four years since I last studied that era.
