Physically and Emotionally.

Physically is all how you look at it. My brother used to hit me when I was younger (like when he would get frustrated at anything, even if it wasnt related to me), and in the past few years, me and my brother, or me and my dad have gotten into very physical fights.

Im never the one to throw the first punch, but Im sure as hell not going to take it, even though both of them are bigger than me and I normally get my ass kicked.

Everyone (aside from my little sister) has emotionally abused me in some way. My brother has always been pretty shitty to me, and only since he moved out have I started to de-stress some. Me and my parents have never really gotten along to well, and one instance that stands out was when I actually needed some money, and I asked them for $20 so I could go out on a date. When I told them thats what it was for, my dad goes "Well....its about damn time you got a date".

My mom just sat there and laughed. It made me feel kinda bad, because I hate asking them for money, and then they were just complete assholes about it. My parents have always treated me like a pathetic looser, when in reality, I just dont talk to them, because they make a mockery of everything I do. There have been so many things, and about the only time I feel relaxed is when Im isolated from my family, or away from home.

iunno. my deepest sympathy to anyone who has been, though.

&young discipline (belts/spankings when you're a kid) and yelling don't count as abuse in my book. That's just parenting, but i'm not going to have kids anyway. worlds' too fucked up..

FYI using any object on a child is abuse, belts, or whatever, disgusting lazy parenting and abuse.  If I ever saw anyone hitting their child with a belt I would slit their throat without a second thought. People like you are the reason kids die every year from abuse.

No. Mom pisses me off on a regular basis, but it's not abuse.

Emotional abuse seems a lot worse.

emotional and physical, although the physical abuse was when i was very young and i understand completely why it came to the point it did. i've gone through a lot of physical abuse from my older sister, but whatever. i tend to not think about it.

i know you specifically don't want people to say this, but i couldn't say which is worse. physical abuse can really get to you emotionally, as can emotional abuse. they can both be so detrimental to a person and i honestly couldn't say which is "worse". for me personally the emotional abuse has been worse, but i only say that because that's lasted longer and i don't understand it like i understand the physical abuse.

Emotional and physical, still going on.  I think physical abuse and emotional abuse are in my opinion almost equally bad, but I'd say that the emotional abuse was worse.  Sure, physical abuse can lead to broken bones, but broken bones heal quicker than a broken heart.  Constantly being told that I'm fat and stupid and will never amount to anything, over the course of some years, has made me become more depressed and paranoid.  Physical pain I can forget, but emotional pain takes so much longer to get over.
