Ok, so, we all know that there are numerous suggestions out there of things that can help us to not cut [burn, scratch, et cetera].  I know of several things, and one big list, that are stickied.
My question is, what has helped you the most?  Was it something that you found somewhere, or is it something that you made up on your own?

It's been a while since I've cut, but I've recently been having a hard time of it.  I saw, in the huge sticky, here in the TDEI forum, a post had a list of question to ask yourself, before you cut.  I keep a little composition notebook, one of the super tiny ones that can fit in your pocket, with me at all times, and I write those questions down, and answer them, I also write whatever mood I was in, or what I was feeling, when I started wanting to SI.
I can also draw in there, or anything that I need to.
That's helped me the most.

Also, I find that if I'm just really anxious, meditation helps, tremendously.

I write down how bad I feel after I do it, and then sometimes if I read it again later, I realize how stupid it is.

I listen to some uplifting music, or watch TV. Something to get my mind off it.

I write poetry. It usually helps me to keep my emotions in check so I don't go crazy.
It probably helped to save my life at some point.

I never really self harmed routinely, but I did break down and do it once. I'm sure that if I hadn't done certain things, I would have started, though.

Weightlifting, in my opinion, is the best. That and any intense exercise. Anything that gives you a lot of soreness. If you like the pain and it gives you control, and you go harder, then all the better. The only thing I can warn you about is not to go too hard....know your limits....I wrecked my shoulders this way. If you're hurt, even a bit, take a break.

Also, once I began taking some time to look into the reasons why I hated myself logically (with little emotional interference) instead of just hating myself, my anger began to go towards the outside world. This takes awhile, though.

Good luck.

I take a notebook and a pencil. Then I just start writing. I don't even pay attention to what I write, it just comes out. And when I'm done, I go back and read it, and usually it makes me cry and realize how much help I need.

sounds stupid, but i take showers. I crouch in the shower and i cup my ears over so all i hear is the beating water. I dont know why, but it pulls me out. Unfortunately it only works at home, and even less unfortunately i get the urge at work. something tells me i need a less depressing job with more people around
