A lot of people come on a forum when their pet is injured or sick. This upsets me. If, under any circumstance, you suspect that your pet needs medical care, no matter how small, take it to a vet, or call an emergency hotline.
-Do not use the excuse that your vet clinic is closed. Keep trying, there are usually always 24-hour hotline numbers.
-Do not use the excuse that those hotline numbers are closed, emergency numbers do not close, and there are several, not just one, that you, and everyone, can call.
-We are not vets. Vets are vets. Stop using homecare to take care of your animals unless you know what you are doing, dead for sure know what you are doing, such as making a splint or a flea dip, things of that nature. At-home surgery is not an option.

Now, onto the gruesome reality of what happens when people try to take on medical care to avoid the cost of vet bills. Warning, these pictures are graphic.
This is a Shar-Pei that had an injurt to her leg. Her owners used DUCT-TAPE to 'bandage' the wound, which caused a major infection. The infection became so deep, and so incredibly bad after it spread throughout the leg, that the entire leg had to be completely amputated. She was seized from the owners, and now lives with a new family. I am not sure if the previous owners were charged with any crimes or not.

Molly almost died, but a lot of dogs don't make it. They meet a much more horrid end.

Please, take care of your pets. And if you see animal abuse, don't be afraid to report it. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW, READ THE ANIMAL WELFARE ACT AND EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT IT IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT'S ILLEGAL.

Things like this shouldn't have time to happen.

Here is a video I made dediated to helping the movement that is pushing to make puppy mills illegal. Puppy mills are factories, basically, that breed dogs at every single heat, without health testing. The dogs are rarely vet checked, even for check ups, and often die. They are bred as soon as they can be, as puppies, and the puppies are sent to pet stores. THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NEVER BUY FROM A PET STORE. THIS IS WHERE THOSE ANIMALS ARE FROM. THIS IS WHAT YOUR MONEY SUPPORTS.
