I'm doing a major in Journalism and Sociology and a minor in public relations.

Do you think I have good employment prospects when I've graduated.

In this day and age, just having a degree doesn't mean a whole lot. There are people with degrees getting turned down for jobs they normally would be over-qualified for. Any kind of college degree is a plus in a potential employers eyes, but it all depends on what kind of job you're going for. If you're applying to be a Journalist, probably have a very good chance, if you're applying for a fry cook at McDonalds, it won't make much difference what degree it is.

It depends on what school you go to and where you're looking for work. I'm not sure but I don't think those studies are in high demand right now, it's more Accounting and Finance at the moment.

What's really in high demand is I.T.

What's in demand might not make too much of a difference, due to time and money already dedicated to the field. Try to start small, and you'll probably get what you need to lead you to better career options.

No, there is always demand if you look hard enough and if location isn't a limitation.

No two or three or four things are ever the ones that are really "in demand" unless you're talking specific states and regions within states, in my opinion.

Also, luck and networking play huge roles.

I kind of agree to an extend. You can look hard but there are that many more people you're competing with for the same job. In this economy, businesses are cutting back what they don't need and are more picky with who they hire. Accounting and Finance majors are generally in demand right now. Networking plays a big role, for sure.

I wouldn't guarantee it. You might want to continue with Graduate School.

Thankfully, in my degree, I'm guaranteed a job as soon as I get my Initial Degree. :)
