I can't believe i'm related to a Nazi. Possibly even Nazi's.

Ok, my Dad's entire side of the family is German, and half of my Mom's side of the family is also German, so I have a lot of German in me. That was cool with me until i found out where my mom's maiden name came from. Her maiden name is "Piper," which came from the German word "Phifer." She told me a Great or Great-Great Uncle or somebody of mine escaped from Hitler's army as a Nazi and ran to America, where he changed his last name to Piper.

And who knows if i'm related to other Nazi's from Dad's side of the family, they are a bunch of redneck prejudice, racist jackasses.

I know it's better than being directly related to Hitler, and I also know it's not my fault because I wasn't the one who did all of those unspeakable acts to the Jews.

But for some reason, i still feel really bad.

aw...well its nothing you can control...its nice to know you have a heart, but theres nothing you can do now, it wasnt you who did it, or anyone you met in your family, just remember might have went on, and just keep it in the back of your mind and just treat people right=D

Being German doesnt make you related to a Nazi.

Many of the Germans were not Nazis, and many of the soldiers attempted to desert, but were unsuccessful and killed, or decided against deserting, because they knew they would be killed.

My grandmother was in the hitler youth and was a nazi. Her family didn't kill any jews. Just becuase a person was a nazi doesn't mean they were evil

i think it doesnt really matter whether u are or arent as long as u know that what hitler did was wrong and that u have nothing to do with it and u shouldnt be paying for what ur ancestors did

Don't feel bad about it. It's in the past and it wasn't you involved. At least you know your ancestor knew what he was doing was wrong and did something about it- not many people can say that who were part of the Nazi army.

Every family has something they're not too proud about.

dont worry about it. I'm related to nazis too, but i dont let it bother me. I'm also related to one of the pilgrims that came over on the mayflower, and my great great uncle was the sherrif arrested Jesse James and confiscated his pistols, which we unfortunately lost when he died.

I also knew a kid that was directly related to hitler. he was like hitler's great great grandson or something like that.

anyway, the point is, dont worry about it. just enjoy the fact that you have history in your family, even if it was bad.

Osama has several siblings living in this country who won't even claim him as a family member (he does have, like 52 other siblings- no exaggeration).

If he was a Nazi, why did he try to escape?

To me, that shows that he really wasnt a Nazi, and did not want to be there. Therefore he escaped.
