Just to let you know that Becky arrived yesterday afternoon about 3pm, met the four goldies staying here and within five minutes was playing with two of the younger dogs.  She has shown no aggression at all with the other dogs and was a delight to groom, allowing me to trim her feet and cut her nails without a problem.  Becky is overweight and Tony can help with advice on getting the weight off.  She loves everyone she meets, does not like getting into the car or small spaces and is quick to find an exit out the front door.  I feel this is from lack of getting out and about with her previous family.  My friends who drove her to Sydney from Port Macquarie said that she traveled well but she has to be watched when opening the car door as she is quick to exit.  Becky spent the night inside and slept in the lounge room with two Goldies and we didn't hear a peep.  She craves any attention that she can get and shakes hands constantly to keep the pats coming.  My friends advised that the only time they heard Becky growl was when a small dog ran to the front gate of its home barking.  My friends have a Border Collie who can be very snappy around other dogs and she was fine around Becky.  During her behavioural assessment I think Becky did what a lot of other dogs would do when confronted by a dog barking at them, even if it was behind a cage .....she had a go at the other dog.....but at the pound this is enough to have her put down.  

I think Becky is a great dog.  She needs to lose weight, have some socialization and be treated like part of a family.  I'm sure that you and your Dad will be able to take care of all she needs.  You are lucky to get her as my friends thought long and hard before they decided to transport her to Sydney.  Their fourteen year old dog died two months ago but they just aren't ready for another dog right now."
