Really, it's not. And I dislike those that say it is.

I'm not going to pretend rap is my favourite genre or even the rap artists I like are great, but I'm also not pretending I've heard every single rap song by every single rap artist either.

I used to be one of those 'Omg rap is shit! Long live Good Charlotte' you know, when I was 12.

But I've grown up, and realised that it is not the genre of music that is shit, it's the people who perform it, and really you need to look past it before you say it is crap or whatever.

I mean, if I listened to 'mainstream rock' nowadays and thought chart bands were all the rock genre had to offer, I'd be saying it puts the rock in crock of shit.

I'll agree with you on that point. I've heard a lot of rap and hip hop that I liked, but I just can't stand it when a song is all about sex, bitches and hos, or "that ass." and unfortunately, that's what everyone else likes.

Most "rappers" are shite though!!!
I'm a massive Nas fan, I mean he's my favourite musician, but other than Nas, Wu-Tang Clan and Jurassic 5; rap is hugely disappointing.

Yes i agree with you

I Listen to a hell of alot of metal music i love it don't get me wrong.

But I love some aspects of rap.

I also love that some rock bands are uniting different genres together such as Linkin park and busta rhymes and Jay Z.

Those were interesting concepts
I used to really like Ludacris and Outkast I still do

Very subjective subject! Try to be open to all sorts of music. Not everyone likes rap, not everyone likes rock, not everyone likes country, etc.

Just because you personally don't like it doesn't mean it sucks.  Even Jazz, a genre that is disliked by many, has really good stuff. Try to respect Jazz artists for being able to do what they do :) Everyone has their own talents :)
