The same as the other topic, but for the SERIOUS FORUM. If you have any ideas on how to improve the number of replies in there, please post them here.

I will check back for the final time in a week, and compile a list to send to David. Please try and put things into bullet points to make this process a lot less complex.

Thank-you, guys. You all do a great job and hopefully you'll all benefit in the long run.

As mentioned in your previous topic, I don't see the status of the Serious Forum improving any time soon.  It is pretty evident that the Serious Forum is essentially dead, despite how unfortunate that is.

I mean, I think we should just scrap the Serious Forum.  I think that in regards to the suggestion of separating the Support Leaders into categories and then making that list accessible to all LiveWire members, it will not only reduce the amount of eHelp requests but also replace the Serious Forum.

Scrap it. I see it as pointless, and if we add the ability for the OP to reply to their own eHelps it means there is no real need for it.

I am so mad, I had an amazing post in Feedback + Suggestions about the serious forum, but it got fucked up.

So, if I can remember:

Suggestions:

  • Do NOT scrap The Serious Forum.
  • Moderators cannot view the anonymous poster in the serious forum.
  • Maybe a ticker for only the posts in the serious forum with 0 replies?

Agreed.  It's essentially just a more public ehelp.

Why are you against scrapping the Serious Forum? It's dead as it is.

Could we maybe have a system that tells us when there are new threads there like our flashing e-help cross?

TBH with everything else i do on livewire I forget to go there.

It is nice in theory but not as nice in application it seems.

Maybe the answer is scrapping it.

Nikki, yeah, we need to add more of a push for it, like the ticker?

You guys are talking about the eHelps, such as the relationship eHelps that aren't really emergencies.

Well, what if I have a relationship issue that isn't an emergency? THE SERIOUS FORUM is there for me.

Also, this is why I don't want mods to view anonymous.

Lol, I don't think that the Moderators can use their power to see through the anonymous posts unless there is a strong need to do so.  However, I am not saying that they particularly do not ever do so.

Alex, we generally don't view IP's, but yeah, I do agree that it would be good not to have that as an option in the Serious forum at all. Unless a post is deleted/moved, but that would be due to trolling, so...not an issue, really.

Yes, I know you aren't SUPPOSED to view anonymous in topics unless it is needed, but, I've seen it done.

Well, we can   But, the Serious forum could probably be changed to be the only forum where we can't, unless a topic is a flagrant spam.

Oh, what a catch.

I'm against the idea of a ticker for The Serious Forum. The way I look at it, it just needs to be trashed anyway. 99% of the threads in there would be acceptable eHelps anyway. It's a nice idea, but it's just not all that neccesary, and creates more confusion and chaos for us. If someone wishes to participate in a conversation with a support leader, they can submit an eHelp and NOT be anonymous. If a poster is anonymous, it means to me that they don't really want communication.

I just think that we could trash the serious forum, and make it possible to reply to anonymous eHelps without ever revealing their identity.

Of course... as it already is, no?

However, if The Serious Forum stays, I definitely agree that mods shouldn't be able to view the anonymous posters.
