A 500 point penalty is assigned to a member that has been formally warned. Most of the points are returned once the 3-day warning period has ended, some still remain with the member though. 1000 point penalties are given to members that have been put up for banning, and stay with them if the ban suggestion goes forward. Members can also receive penalty points from moderators if they break a guideline and the moderator think it's necessary.
