(anon because there are some people on here that i dont want to know that im starting a business) Im starting a business in canada but my credit isnt good enough to get a bank loan. Im going to need about $12,000 and am wondering if i would be able to get like 12 credit cards to fund this project, or whether they reject credit applications of you have too many cards. Right now i have 4:
TD VISA
Scotia VISA
MBNA mastercard
BMO mastercard Im wondering what other credit cards i can apply for in canada, or if theres any other ways to get start up capital for a business

Personally, I think this would be a very bad idea. You'll have all those companies to pay back and if you don't pay the payments on time it's just going to add up interest. It'd be different it it were all one company but 12 is going to really screw you over.

If your credit isn't good enough to get a loan for 12k then you're probably not going to be able to pay back the money to the credit cards either... especially with a ridiculous interest rate which is what you'll probably get. See if you can get a line of credit on one of your cards. If not, ask your parents/family to be guarantors of your credit applications so you can simply have one or two cards with higher limits from which you get the money. Or just borrow the money from them. Just remember that 12k turns into 20k in a heartbeat...
