Yes, religion leads to men with pipebombs, but let me ask this-was it religion that developed weapons capable of wiping cities off the earth, or was it the logistics and science that Dawkins likes to ride like it's his favourite dildo?

And then what really pisses me off about him is at first he criticizes faith as false hope and then he looks down on people who come to terms with their situation anyways because they have faith.

Religion didn't cause the developement but it definetly creates a cause to use them. And people don't come to terms with anything because of faith, they expect to be rewarded with a promised heaven, which is in turn false hope.

Well there are fanatics in religion, as well as fanatics in atheism...and they are just as bad as the religious ones.

But even still, comparing Dawkins to politicians/military who decided to use atomic bombs is fallacy. FALLACY I SAY

He makes some decent points between his rampant faith flaming. His books and videos would be a much easier read or watch if they were paraphrased by someone who wasn't in a tantrum about the situation.

There seems to have been a spike in Dawkins bitching just lately on R&P, but I'm yet to see anyone actually produce and criticize a specific example.

Science is more or less the language of the universe, just because it involves the good and the bad doesn't make it good or bad.
Religion doesn't really have any positive effects, it's mostly negative.

Though it would be a good argument on who would be better off, the religious cave man or spiritually void java sipping blackberry wielding douche.

The knowledge of how to split atoms does in itself not imply mass murder; believing that everyone who does not agree with you will burn in hell for all eternity just might.

I don't know how people can have such hatred for Dawkins. He really isn't a mean person (for lack of a better word.) In his book, and in the debates/videos I have seen, he just wants people to think about things with a scientific point of view, which makes perfect darn sense to me! I don't see how people get offended, honestly.

Because he calls faith blind hope, says religion is a terrible thing, and basically insinuates anything that's not scientific is idiotic.
