My school has the policy where if you are 5 or more minutes late for a class, you are automatically discredited for class that day. And if you don't have a note, you're automatically written to ISS for skipping. Let's just say everyone runs like maniacs during the 3 minute bells.

I'm late for a few classes sometimes cos I travel 22 miles to get to college, so if my trains delayed I have a valid excuse.
