To determine due date. Because the ultrasound said I was 11 weeks pregnant three weeks ago, so now I should be 14 weeks. And today, he put the date of conception at about 12 weeks ago, based on my last period (I have irregular cycles anyway, so who the hell really knows...).
He said the ultrasound could be off by two or three DAYS not weeks. But yet stands by this notion that conception was 2 weeks later. Which would make the baby only 12 weeks.

Two weeks doesn't really make much of a difference until the end though.
