I brought this situation up with a friend of mine: If a football team finishes with a record of 15-0-1, (15 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie), is it still technically an undefeated season?
My one friend says no, because the team failed to win every game.
I say winning every game is what makes your season perfect, not undefeated. Even though they're imperfect, they were still technically undefeated by the fact that they have 0 in the loss column. Just like how an 0-15-1 team is still winless (I'm still convinced that I won this debate with this point).
My uncle says a tie just counts as a loss for both teams.
And my roommate brought up a good point too, what if the team you tied, you already beat them earlier in the season? Then what do you make of it?
What's your view?
