Okay, seriously, if she's knew to it then things will pick up. She's self-concious, but that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy sex. Practice makes perfect, so keep out it, maybe teach her a few tricks, and communicate, telling her what gives more pleasure and what doesn't (she tells you the same).

It took me awhile too...and long breaks in between (like weeks at a time) don't help. Do you talk to her about sexual things outside of sex (like porn, masturbation, doing phone sex and such)? It might help...Don't force it, but you have to constantly reassure her that it's okay to be open and confident about her sexuality with you. If you turn around and cheat on her know, it will probably take her even longer to be open about the subject and not have so little self-confidence in herself.

There is really nothing wrong with you thinking it might be exciting to have a threesome. We cannot always control our desires and half the fun of imagination is how wonderful things seem. In the meantime, what if you bring in a new partner without actually bringing someone in? You could put on some porn (and that will give the effect of being with someone else) or even try recording or taking pictures (sort of like someone watching you). If you're feeling excited in other ways, you could leave the windows open with the hopes that a neighbor (even a stranger) might hear you two. There are always more public places (cars or movie theaters are nice) to fullfill some voyeristic tendencies. It's all about baby steps with what you both feel comfortable with, and there is PLENTY to keep yourselves occupied.
