So many amazing people don't get in... no one can answer that question for you. You're in the pool of deserving applicants, but it's like a total crapshoot for every single applicant in that pool. Go for it though, you might stand out, especially since you're from Florida and don't have a conventional family or anything.

1470/1600 should be enough if you got GPA and extracurriculars.
Higher is of course better. 1500+/1600 would certainly help.

ahh.. if you somehow end up not getting in, don't worry about it.

I think you're qualified. They just don't have enough space, so they have to reject a lot of qualified students every year ^^
