Ok I'm in this very annoying situation.

Theres this friend I used to have, and he was probably the greatest friend I had my entire life. He was like a brother to me. But then one day he moved away. (Like all of my good friends.)

I haven't seen this guy in over 3 years. He's totally changed from the looks of it, and from what I've heard about him. He's really into partying, smoking weed, and getting drunk. This was something we vowed never to do when we were younger...

When I don't see a friend for THAT long... I sort of lose interest in seeing them again. Honestly I don't want to remain friends with him because I feel the relashionship has vanished over the years. And I feel as if I hardly know him anymore.

What makes it even more worse is that he'll randomly call me every now and then each year. And I never pick up. I talk to him over myspace but that's about it.

There's just nothing to talk about, since I haven't been doing anything AT ALL for the past few years. I just don't know what to do...

Right now nothing is happening in my life. I'm a boring failure, and I wish to remain this way until I find a job or get into college something... maybe then I could start hanging out with him again...

So what should I do?

Maybe since you dont have that connection with him or you just dont have any interest in talking to a guy who has "changed" bothers you . It seems you dont want to have any contact with him or just get to know him more better because of the way he acts right now. You should really just see whats going on with him. Get him to get that connection again as if he was talking to you back in the day if you really want to talk to him.
The fact that you dont talk to him doesnt mean you cant be friends.

My friends are always a priority and my greatest fear is that this type of shit will eventually happen.

If I were in your shoes I would call said person and explain how I feel.

I think you should just let this one go. Friends come and go and I can see you've both changed too much to have anything in common.
I once had a close friend like that but then our lifestyles became very different (they were never too similar anyhow) and we just grew apart. I last saw her over a year ago.

Yeah he came over to my house last year totally random, he said it was a surprise or something. He brought his girlfriend with him as well. IT was just so... awkward. There was like nothing to really talk about. All we talked about mostly was memories from the past and that's it.

I really didn't want to even see him... UGH it really does suck because before he moved away we made a promise that the next time we saw each other we'd be in our favorite dream cars at the time. For me it was an RSX and he loved the Toyota Supra. /sigh I think we were away from each other just too long...
