Well for a normal ear piercing i think your supposed to leave it be for 4 weeks. So maybe she didn't know her stuff and just guessed a bit higher cause it was a cartilage.

Nah it was at a really high standard place =/ she's done most of my piercings, and none of them have been infected. And I forgot to say this before, but apparently you shouldn't apply "alcohol, peroxide, betadine or methylated spirits as they are overly strong and drying which can hinder healing". Instead, make a salt water solution. Google it.
