So, I have three possible explanations,

1) They secretely sympathize with my situation, as they are young and must remember a prank they pulled in high school, but they have to give me a punishment lest the PTA come after them.(I hope it's this)

2) My parents are much more dense then I thought and they honestly believe I am constantly sorting through piles of clothes and they trust out of goodwill I will not use my computer.(If this is the case I feel guilty that I betrayed their trust, but my parents aren't exactly idiots, so it's rather unlikely.

3) My parents know, but will not say anything until we get into an argument where my step-dad will use it against me, giving him the leverage he needs to win any arguments we might have. (Unfortunately, this is the most likely.)

And if it were my parents, it would be option two. But I wouldn't use the computer if they told me not to. I can survive without the fucking thing for however long they want. You should try the same.
