I have had a few members, in confidence say to me

"if david does not fix livewire by x date, I am leaving"

thoughts on this yories? I mean, we have stuck by livewire through a lot..does the recent hacker business/decline in concern about livewires well being concern you?

I've always sort of wanted to stop coming to livewire.

I feel like it's just a way for me to waste my time.

It's not like I go out of my way to get on livewire, but when I'm SUPPOSED to be doing something productive like homework or fuck, just washing my car or something livewire is my procrastination.

People can leave if they want, I really don't care. I really don't have many friends on this site, so yeah. And no, it's really no concern to me. I'm not trying to sound too negative, but LiveWire can go to hell, for all I care.

I didn't know there was something wrong with livewire. other than the lack of support this support-site actually has.

people crying over livewire being poorly designed is nothing new

i personally enjoy it when users create elaborate "i am leaving this internets waaahhhhhhhhh" posts because they usually just come back at some point and continue threadshitting

It bothers me that there is less and less communication about whats going on. What was this last lock down about and what was the resolution?

I am not sure if we are posting explicitly about it?

short answer...

hacker got on davids admin account, demoted mods, DOS'ed SLs. david came back in...repromoted mods, Unadmined himself to stop the hacker. they are trying to fix the problem.

it is not fixed as of yet.

the site was on lockdown while they got everything secure.

thats all I know.

I probably won't leave until next May when school is out, summer begins, and I need not waste time on the computer. I liked out with summer worked out (leaving LW, joining when school started).

Livewire will be fine.  What happened is hardly threatening to the forum's existence as a whole, at least from what I have heard.  I was honestly more concerned when David switched the sidebar to the left side than I am now.

lulz that's what happened to me when I was promoted for the second time. Not that I'd close my account, but I was becoming increasingly less active. Not that my presence here has ever been one of immense activity.

If you ever want to know anything about the affairs of the moderation staff and the current issues that we face, feel free to throw me a PM and I'll give you as much detail as I can (which, depending on the situation, could very well be nothing).

This goes for anyone concerned with this sort of business. I highly value clarity and communication between LW's staff and LW's populace. I think, if I had it my way, I would want the moderator's forum to be viewable publicly (save for discussions on particular members, for obvious reasons). It's too bad that most of the mods wouldn't feel comfortable with this.

I dunno.  I tend to forum-hop.  Whenever I gain some popularity on another forum, I leave the previous one alone for awhile.
